Kentucky Medical Association
Cory W. Meadows is Director of Advocacy and Legal Affairs at the Kentucky Medical Association where he manages the KMA’s legislative advocacy efforts and legal activities. Mr. Meadows will lead a discussion with attendees that highlights standards established by recent amendments to Kentucky’s newly enacted controlled substance law (2012 House Bill 1) and agency regulations, how they compare to prior laws and regulations, and how physicians are expected to apply such standards to everyday practice, i.e. KASPER usage, patient interaction, documentation requirements, etc.
As the Medical Business Advocacy Manager for the KMA, Lindy Lady provides her expertise on professional practice issues to KMA members, and other organizations. The “Medicare of tomorrow” will move physicians from a fee-for-service environment to a new value based payment system. This session will discuss what Value Based Purchasing (VBP) is and the impact it will have on physician practices, what a VBP report is, and the significance of the Medicare “Physician Compare” website.
